And so now the RUOK team begin the next half of our project, creating a magazine to present our topic.
The assignment requires at least 8 images and 1000-1500 words, not particularly scary especially given that it is a group project and the work will be divided between the three of us. However finding away to present this topic in an interesting, engaging and insightful way will definitely be the most challenging part.
Today's class was all about contemplation and inspiration.
Things which we needed to decide on included;

A name. (The stack)
Characters (Rural and city students)
A visual inspiration (see below)
A Q&A
How we will present this photo-shoot.
In terms of visual inspiration I first looked at adobe behance. A website which collates creative projects created using adobe products. It's great for inspiring creative ideas or just procrastination.
On behance I came across the Haze magazine, which is a Ukrainian hair dressing publication. We really liked how simple and minimal the front cover was and we are considering adapting the "plastic wrap" photo-shoot for our own cover. Japanese football publication Shukyu Magazine was also a great example of simple but effective use of colour and layout. we also liked the bilingual aspect of this magazine and may also use this for our own cover. Stack.com also pointed us in the direction of magazines which focus on mental health, however most of these were reliant on illustrated visuals rather than photography and so weren't really relevant to our artistic direction. Finally we returned to a UNICEF report which we had found in the first couple weeks. It is a report on mental health in Vietnam with a particular emphasis on rural areas, not only is it informative but it is also quite beautifully put together and I believe it's information will form the backbone of our research.
Now, I have the task of learning yet another Adobe program, this time, it's InDesign. it seems hard but I'm up for it.
Let's do this.
