Photo series: Peggy, Frankston's number one Crystal Dealer

Peggy and her husband moved their pawn business from lively Chapel Street, Prahran to Frankston's aging retail strip four months ago. Retail Vacancy rates have risen to over 20% in the bayside suburb but Peggy is optimistic about their business. "There are six pawn shops in Frankston but we are the only one with a crystal shop as well."

Peggy plans to offer Crystal healing and Chromatherapy in the near future as she once did in Prahran. Peggy believes that crystals can be used to remedy a vast ammount physical and spiritual ailments. "This one is anti-radiation, it protects me from that smart metre over there, normally I would wear a quantum amulet too but it is very hot today and I don't want to wear two black cords."

"I find people in Frankston are much more spiritual, in Prahran crystals were all about looks". The walls of the Chromatherapy rooms are adorned by chakra allignment diagrams, her certificates of qualification in natural healing, religious figures and Guru's from India to Brazil.
